What are the responsibilities and job description for the Orthodontic Treatment Coordinator position at Smilemakers?
We are looking for an enthusiastic, outgoing Orthodontic Treatment Coordinator to join our dream team to provide the best care for our patients.
The Spirit of the Position:
The Treatment Coordinator communicates with patients about available treatment plans, educates and provides patient follow-up to the orthodontist's diagnosis. The ideal candidate for this position has an orthodontic background and experience working with patients of all ages.
Principal Job Duties:
- Greet patients upon arrival and makes them feel comfortable
- Advise and educate patients on recommended treatment plans
- Follow up with patients on payment plans and insurance coverage
- Provide patients with proposed treatment plans and cost estimates
- Schedule new appointments and maintain treatment schedule
- Answer orthodontic related phone calls and questions
- Coordinate orthodontic services with other dental and medical services
- Assist in updating and maintaining client dental records
- Provide support to dentists, surgeons and staff as needed
- Offer patients advice and materials necessary to maintain good dental health
- Prevent the spread of infection and disease by maintaining a surgically clean work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail

- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Superior customer service and telephone skills
- Ability to multi-task and maintain strong organizational skills
- Ability to perform math skills
- Knowledge of orthodontic procedures
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 -3 years of customer service and working with the public
- Fast typing, familiarity with Google Sheets, MS Word Processing and technically savvy
- Previous dental/orthodontic experience a plus

- Energetic and outgoing personality
- Able to work without constant supervision
- Strong and consistent work ethic with a high standard of integrity

- Ability to establish rapport with patients and teammates
