General Summary of Purpose:

As our SmileMakers Personalization Operator, you will be responsible for operateing personalization equipment and accessories to correctly personalize merchandise according to documented specifications. Processes customer orders through preparation, packaging and shipping methods in a timely and accurate fashion.

Essential Functions:

• Processes and personalizes item(s) using designated personalization processes
• Sets up and operates personalization equipment for each item according to documented specifications
• Reads and verifies pick tickets, labels and specification information to ensure the item is correct and without damage; ensures item messaging and placement of message is accurate
• Cleans and packages items correctly after personalization process is complete
• Cross trains in processes as workload and equipment allow
• Identifies the merchandise location, quantity, unit of measure and physical description of the merchandise by reading the pick ticket
• Picks merchandise into totes and/or boxes from alpha-numerically identified locations
• Lifts and places boxes to pallets and/or carts on the production floor
• Collects and moves completed work from the production floor to the combining area or the packing area
• Reviews pick ticket and checks all merchandise associated with each order for quality and accuracy while identifying and correcting discrepancies
• Packs orders into properly sized cartons in an efficient manner by constructing boxes and using a tape gun
• Operates case sealer and metering station to scan completed orders and apply appropriate shipping onto box
• Abide by all policies and procedures of SmileMakers/Oriental Trading Company
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance
• Must be able to attend face to face meetings on short or little advance notice
• Work requires in-person collaboration among colleagues and contractors

Marginal Functions:

• Performs operator level troubleshooting on personalization equipment, a
• ccessories and fixtures
• Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Average reading ability to correctly follow written instructions
• Basic counting and math skills to pick and process the correct quantity
• Ability to communicate and understand English in written form
• Ability to communicate and understand English verbally
• Ability to meet minimum performance and accuracy expectations according to set policies and procedures in a
• performance management environment
• Ability to walk for the duration of the shift
• Ability to stand for the duration of the shift
• Ability to frequently squat, push, bend, and reach overhead
• Ability to frequently move up to 35 pounds and 50 pounds occasionally over a distance of several feet
• Requires good eyesight, hand/eye coordination, and attention to detail to identify alpha and numeric characters

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• Previous experience in a production environment preferred

Equipment Utilization:

Box knife, tape gun, copier, printer, laser plate maker, pad printer, stamp flash and polymer machine, toothbrush wrapper, computer, scanner, case sealer, hand carts, two wheel dolly, pallet jack, staple gun

Work takes place in a typical office environment that may require sitting for extended periods of time and/or frequent use of finger dexterity.
