STATUS : EXEMPT / SALARY

TYPE : On-Campus

REPORTS TO : Campus Director

PURPOSE

The Campus Business Manager is central to the optimal operations of the campus and the coordinated execution of activities and reporting to / from the College level by performing an array of skilled administrative, accounting, and operational tasks under the direction of the Campus Director and The College Team. The Campus Business Manager is responsible for overseeing and supporting various functions of the campus that involve students, faculty, and staff including managing the front desk, clerical work, expense management, and the oversight and promotion of on-site events and activities. Overall, the Campus Business Manager will be the go-to person on campus as well as act as an essential point of contact between the campus and the Central College Team and plays a critical role in making sure the campus operates smoothly on a day-to-day basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Required job duties and responsibilities include :

  • Maintain the campus calendar and monthly newsletter
  • Manage expenses and inventory including buying, receiving, inventorying, and storing materials for daily campus operations and events
  • Manages campus vendors including utilities and working with the Central College Accounting teams to ensure invoices are correct, payments are made in a timely manner, and items are allocated correctly
  • Collaborate with the College team and various departments for execution and promotion of campus events, activities, and special projects
  • Oversee general conditions of the facilities working with Facilities Department to enter work orders for maintenance or repair as needed
  • Assist with onboarding / offboarding procedures as needed on campus
  • Support the Campus Director with daily campus related functions
  • Become proficient in various central software programs including, but not limited to : Procurify (Ordering and Expense management), Paylocity (HR Software), Canva(Marketing Design), and EventBrite (Event Management)
  • Staff, train, oversee, and support the front desk in all areas of operations
  • Ensure the front desk provides impeccable customer service, and is trained in lead management and admissions policies and procedures
  • Create a warm, welcoming student centric environment
  • Maintains knowledge of Smith Chason College programs, campus resources, information systems, and policies and procedures
  • Responsible for taking a leadership role in cultivating, ensuring, and recognizing staff participation in Smith Chason College campus spirit and pride
  • Check and distribute mail daily to appropriate recipients
  • Other items as assigned by the Campus Director, and / or Central College Team

Requirements : QUALIFICATIONS

Associate degree preferred. Acceptable experience includes any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and two (2) years college-level course work in Accounting, Business, or a related field, and three (3) years of increasingly responsible administrative or accounting experience in an office environment, preferably in the private postsecondary sector. Recommended competencies include :

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, perform well under pressure, meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and timely follow through
  • Strong accounting skills
  • Ability to track, monitor, assess and evaluate inventory and budgets
  • Individual must possess strong motivational skills, oral and written communication proficiency
  • Provide excellent student customer service
  • Must have strong technical skills including all computer applications, internet research, database management, and analytical skills
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Individual must be professional in all aspects of the position including appearance, demeanor, and attitude and consistently display the highest level of integrity

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time
  • Can independently move objects up to 25 lbs.

  • Must have sufficient hearing and speaking ability to communicate in person or on the phone / computer with others
  • Must be able to occasionally function in activities that include walking, bending, squatting, and reaching
