JOB TITLE : Senior Registrar

STATUS : Full Time

TYPE : On-Campus

REPORTS TO : Campus Director / Regional Registrar Manager

PURPOSE :

The Registrar is responsible for the maintenance and integrity of each individual student record that includes the admissions information, scheduling, attendance, grading, tuition payments, and counseling(s). The individual in this role must create and maintain collaborative working relationships with campus leadership, faculty, and staff. The Registrar supports Smith Chason College programs and policies as established by federal, state, administrative, and academic entities. The Registrar also acts as a central communication resource for academic and policy information related to student records and management.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS / COMPETENCIES :

  • 3-5 years experience as a higher education Registrar
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Proven leader with business administration experience required
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; capable of reading, writing, and speaking the English language clearly and understandably
  • Demonstrated understanding of the application of technology to deliver Records and Registration services
  • A positive attitude and ability to plan and adapt to change, results-oriented
  • Strong technical skills including computer applications / programs, internet research, database management, and analytical skills; the ability to quickly learn new software programs as needed
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, perform well under pressure, and meet deadlines

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Maintain accurate, up-to date records of student academic and attendance performance
  • Post final student grades, reports or awards on time as per school policy
  • Actively participate in meetings and training programs as required
  • Provide back-up for records and registration services, including registering students, issuing transcripts, answering phones, scanning, reporting grades and working special events
  • Evaluate transfer credits
  • Audit Proof of Graduation (high school diplomas, GEDs, home school documents, degrees)
  • Create the Master Schedule each new quarter in partnership with Regional Registrar Manager
  • Create academic file for each student and keep up to date regularly
  • Enroll students into the appropriate classes each quarter
  • Provide student schedules
  • Provide students with requested verification letters
  • Follow FERPA regulations
  • Treat students with fairness, respect, impartiality, and objectivity
  • Provide confidential guidance to all students that have outside factors that may interfere with their studies
  • Maintains organized, complete and audit ready student files
  • Ensure students meet graduation requirements
  • Keep current on all programs offered and continually seek to enhance program / school knowledge
  • Collaborate with other departments in a positive and productive manner to ensure a student-first environment
  • Access, maintain, and provide accurate reports as requested by campus leadership
  • Additional duties as assigned by Campus Director / Regional Registrar Manager

  • Must have sufficient hearing and speaking ability to communicate in person or on the phone / computer with others

    60,000 - $70,000 annually
