JOB
Operator II will be required to operate light and/or heavy equipment for the Road and Bridge Department in a safe effective manner. Operate motor vehicles and/or heavy haul trucks in a safe efficient manner. Works as part of a crew of Operators as directed by the Foreman, Superintendent, Crew Leader or Operator designated to supervise the crew.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Reports completed job data to the crew supervisor including, but not limited to, labor and equipment time, materials ordered, used, stockpiled or returned.Responsible for the proper upkeep, care and storage of crew-assigned equipment.Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) as deemed necessary for certain locations.Works safely in a team environmentMay be required to work outside of normal business hours.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
High School diploma or G.E.D.Licenses and CertificationsMust have a Class A Commercial Driver License If an applicant has a CDL Class A and not the tanker endorsement, if hired the tanker endorsement must be obtained within 60days of hire date to continue employment.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentStanding-prolonged periods of time, walking, stooping, bending, pulling, reaching.May be required to work outside of normal business hours and in adverse weather conditions with extended hours. Subject to outside environmental conditions. Rain Snow, Extreme cold and heat; below 32 and/or above 100 degrees for more than one hourLift up to 50 lbs. at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 25 lbs.Walking-moving on foot to accomplish tasks: long distance/from one work site to anotherVisual Acuity-operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment
