What you bring to the table:
Education: Graduation from an accredited
school of nursing
BSN or equivalent
combination of education and experience required (MSN preferred)
Nursing experience: 3 years of floor
nursing
Management experience: 5 years in
long-term care
Preferrable in a Director of Nursing (DON) or an Assisted Director of Nursing (ADON)
Licensure: RN license in good standing in
Illinois
Strong experience developing and
implementing quality improvement programs
Ability to translate
the goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department into actionable items
Knowledgeable in state reporting and the
ability to develop and implement plan of corrections
Strong communication skills and ability to
collaborate with team
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise all nursing staff
Overseeing department budgets
Maintaining high standards of care for all
residents
DON acts as a Liaison between doctors, patients, and
family members about resident’s plan of care
Director of Nursing collaborates on the recruitment
and training
of new nursing staff
Ensure proper training for staff on
department policies
Nursing Director implements quality
improvement programs to help us deliver the highest possible levels of care in
our community
