PRIMARY FUNCTION
The primary function of this position is to perform routine mechanical repairs on compressed air equipment including air dryers, filters, cooling systems, ventilation ducting and air piping systems. Repair piping, valves, filters, associated controls; Extensive knowledge of the principles, methods, equipment, and tools used to repair air compressors is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
● Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, rebuild air compressors and associated motors, pumps and components
Wire single and three phase motors
● Perform rigging activities, including selecting equipment, attaching loads, ensuring safe lifting/positioning
● Conduct inspections to identify and repair leaks, faults, and performance issues in the compressed air systems
● Perform welding, soldering, and cutting tasks as required
● Prepare, cut, fabricate, layout, fit, position, bend, assemble piping components together in various positions
● Install hangers, supports, valves and components according to piping system plans and specifications
● Read/interpret blueprints, tech drawings, specifications to ensure accurate installation/alignment of systems
● Adhere to all safety guidelines, including OSHA regulations, to ensure a safe working environment
● Check the equipment and supplies required to perform the work scheduled, comply with PPE requirements, and otherwise prepare for duties
● Uses manuals, repair manuals, parts manuals, parts diagrams to troubleshoot compressed air equipment
● Uses lift trucks, overhead cranes, & other aides to lift or move parts into position to be repaired
● Uses hand & power tools to remove, install, replace, re-build, repair, & test parts/equipment
● Uses miscellaneous resources and computers to reference parts, get information about parts, record data
● Uses tools to disassemble/reassemble parts or equipment; cleans parts; uses test equipment to make diagnostic checks; and controls powered equipment or tools to make repairs
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
● Willing to learn and take detailed instruction
● Proven mechanical field service experience and mechanical aptitude
● Understanding of single and three phase power
● Extensive knowledge of methods, equipment, and tools used to repair and/or install compressed air systems
● Operate a variety of service vehicles such trucks, fork lifts, scissor lifts and maneuver trailers
● Cooperate with team, share information across the organization, follow company procedures
● Familiarity with mobile technology and applications
● Superb customer service, communication and self-management skills
● Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and safe work practices
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Work Experience:
3 years of technical field service experience maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment. Demonstrated expertise in maintenance, overhaul, and repair of air compressors and associated systems. Possess strong mechanical and electrical skills as well as good understanding of single and three phase power.

Must be willing to learn, self-directed and have excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skills. Can work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to interface with customers (both internal & external) effectively and courteously. Read, write, and speak clearly in English.
Physical:
Must be able to daily and repeatedly stoop, kneel, bend and climb besides, onto and underneath various equipment to perform diagnosis and repairs; Must be able to effectively see to perform repairs, research technical manuals, and develop electronic repair work order reports. Must be able to routinely and physically lift/position various parts to perform repairs/service and manually handle parts up to 75 pounds, as well as use mechanical hoists for heavier parts.
Field Activity:
Must be able to daily operate a service vehicle and drive for extended periods to reach customer locations. Field activities require a valid state driver's license and possess a safe driving record. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Education:
Must have a high school diploma or GED
