Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Concrete Quality Control Technician to join our team at Smith Ready Mix, Inc. As a key member of our quality control team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our ready mix concrete meets the highest standards of quality and consistency.
About the Role
This is a full-time position with competitive salary and benefits. We offer on-the-job training for suitable applicants without prior experience. As a Concrete Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring and administering the Quality Control (QC) Program across assigned projects to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and test aggregate and concrete samples for gradation, moisture, slump, air content, and temperature.
- Maintain contact with plant operations and/or QC teams to ensure necessary adjustments are made to the mixture as required.
- Conduct field tests, record data, and communicate with relevant individuals/agencies.
- Work in a lab setting, travel to various plants, and job sites in company vehicles.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma; some college or trade school preferred but not required.
- Experience: At least one year of experience in the ready mix or construction industry; ACI Level 1 certification preferred.
- Skillset: Strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and flexibility to rearrange schedules with little notice.
- Licenses: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Benefits and Work Environment
