About Our Team
We are seeking an experienced Concrete Quality Control Technician to join our dedicated team at Smith Ready Mix, Inc. As a key player in our quality control department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and consistency in our ready mix concrete products.
Job Requirements
- Education: High school diploma; some college or trade school preferred but not required.
- Experience: At least one year of experience in the ready mix or construction industry; ACI Level 1 certification preferred.
- Skillset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and adaptability to changing priorities.
- Licenses: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and test aggregate and concrete samples for gradation, moisture, slump, air content, and temperature.
- Collaborate with plant operations and/or QC teams to ensure necessary adjustments are made to the mixture as required.
- Conduct field tests, record data, and communicate with relevant individuals/agencies.
- Work in a lab setting, travel to various plants, and job sites in company vehicles.
Benefits and Work Environment
Smith Ready Mix, Inc. offers a tobacco-free workplace and a zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy. This position requires frequent lifting up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting up to 100 pounds. You must also be able to wheelbarrow approximately 3 cu. ft. of concrete regularly.
