What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Security Officer position at Smiths Group?
The Facility Security Officer (FSO) will direct security measures necessary for implementing applicable requirements of the 32 Code of Federal Regulation Part 117 NISPOM) and related federal requirements for classified and unclassified contracts materials documents and equipment. The FSO will serve as member of the Insider Threat Working Committee.
FSO Job duties include but are not limited to :
Job duties include but are not limited to;
- Serves as main point of contact for DCSA for site and point of contact for security related employee / site issues
- Receive generate classify mail reproduce store transmit ship and destroy all classified material and maintain applicable records as prescribed by 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM Rule.
- Review incoming DD254s and ensure the facilitys compliance with the applicable security requirements
- Prepare for and be main POC for site DCSA Annual Security Vulnerability Assessment
- Complete and submit selfinspection in NISS
- Provide the following training and education :
Ensure all cleared employees have mandatory training for derivative classification (if applicable) training and insider threat training
Conduct and record annual audit results for site with team to show compliance
Qualifications :
Education / Training / Experience Requirements :
Successful completion of FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities through CDSE required in first 3 months of hire
Technical Knowledge Skills and Abilities :
Background : This position requires Sensitive Security Information (SSI) access and vetting via the TSA. Applicant must successfully pass a federal background investigation. Must have active Secret or Top Secret clearance.

The base compensation for this position ranges from $69288.60 $161673.40 / yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location skills jobrelated knowledge and experience. The compensation package also includes incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
