Job Opportunity: Part-Time Paralegal/Legal Assistant – Estate Planning & Probate
We are seeking a dedicated, self-starting, and detail-oriented Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our legal team on a part-time basis. This role will provide essential support to attorneys in Estate Planning and Probate, ensuring our legal processes run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience with WealthCounsel, LEAP, and/or MyCase, along with strong organizational and communication skills.
Job Summary: As a Paralegal/Legal Assistant, you will support our attorneys with various legal tasks, including research, case management, and documentation. Your contributions will ensure that our office remains organized and that our clients receive high-quality legal services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and organization of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence
- Maintain accurate records of case files and ensure all documentation is up-to-date within the Legal Case Management System (WealthCounsel, LEAP, or MyCase preferred)
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and managing attorney schedules
- Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal proceedings to gather information or provide case updates
- Draft and file legal documents related to estate planning and probate
- Conduct legal research and assist with case preparation
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of Probate Law and Estate Planning
- Familiarity with WealthCounsel, LEAP, and/or MyCase is preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Prior experience or coursework related to paralegal studies is a plus
- Must be able to work in-person at our office
Compensation:
- Pay is commensurate with experience.
