Landscaper
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Purpose:
The Landscaper is responsible for the proper maintenance and overall upkeep of landscaping areas at multiple properties. Importance is placed on safety-critical, attention-to-detail and effectively supporting hotel corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance activities through the maintenance and operation teams.
Primary Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Business:
The Landscaper will work 8 to 10 hours per shift, 5 or 6 days each week, based on occupancy and staffing demand. Holidays and weekends are affected by peak demand which means all team members must work together during those days to keep SMR operations running efficiently.
Within your respective assignments you will:
- Maintain landscaping at SMR properties which include, but not limited to: mowing, mulching, weeding, planting, trimming, and other aspects of landscaping.
- Operate landscaping equipment and other vehicles such as mowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, leaf blowers, and other similar machines.
- Follow all safety procedures and actively participate in safety training. Ensure compliance through safety system ownership.
- Maintain chemicals, equipment, and areas up to company standards.
- Collaborate with maintenance department to complete special projects in guest rooms, common areas, waterparks, hotel grounds, and other projects as assigned.
- Maintain the highest level of cleanliness, maintenance, and care throughout property grounds, pool areas, activity areas, common areas, and back of house areas.
- Collaborate with management in design and execution of new landscaping.
- Take appropriate approach of care for flowers, bushes, trees, and other plants year-round.
- Carry our projects related to seasonal festivals and events indoors and outdoors.
- Compliance with TOSHA certifications, biohazards procedures and responsibilities for safety in handling.
- Knowledge and ability to comply with all company operating policies and procedures.
- Perform other incidental and related duties as required and/or assigned.
- Management reserves the right to change, remove or add to these duties as necessary.
Team Members:
- Provide support to my Team and Manager.
- Collaborate with other team members and my manager to communicate issues and coordinate tasks to ensure SMR operations cohesively and efficiently.
- Contributes to building a positive team spirit.
- Interact with team members and guests in a positive and friendly manner, in all situations.
- No team member will pose a direct threat to the health/safety of self or others.

Skills / Knowledge:
- Ability to work individually or as a team.
- Knowledge of groundskeeping and landscaping practices and procedures.
- Ability to use a variety of handheld tools and power equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding work environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively and use the English language fluently: speak, understand, read, and write. Adapt Spanish interpretation when necessary.
Education / Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience operating and maintaining a zero turn, weed eater, and other landscaping equipment.
- Physical stamina that allows bending, climbing 3-5 flights of stairs consistently, lifting 50-75 pounds daily, and being able to work outside in all seasons, all types of weather conditions, including hot and cold extremes.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas/industries is required which includes: Hospitality, groundskeeping, or landscaping.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to be on company insurance.
- Ability to work within a diverse workforce.

Essential Functions:
Specific vision abilities required for this job include peripheral, distance, close, and depth perception and the ability to adjust vision focus. The employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and sit, use hands to finger, touch, handle, and feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb and descend numerous flights of stairs consistently. The employee is required to use hand, arm, and leg to reach, bend, push, pull, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Physical stamina that allows bending, climbing 3-5 flights of stairs consistently, lifting 50-75 pounds daily, and being able to work outside in all seasons, all types of weather conditions including hot and cold extremes, such as sun and humidity. Stand and walk for the majority of the day.
