About Us:We are a non-profit, Catholic faith based, 125-bed skilled nursing facility that provides long and short-term healthcare and rehab services located in North Fargo. We are seeking a Pastoral Care Coordinator (Chaplain) to join our leadership team.

Location: SMP Health - St. Catherine North, Fargo, ND
Position Type: Full-time
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, with occasional evenings and weekends for special services.
Job Summary:
SMP Health - St. Catherine North is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pastoral Care Coordinator (Chaplain) to provide spiritual support and guidance to residents, families, and staff within our skilled nursing facility. The Chaplain will offer pastoral care services that foster emotional and spiritual well-being, provide comfort during times of crisis, and create a welcoming environment that supports the diverse spiritual needs of those in our care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide spiritual care and counseling to residents, families, and staff members, addressing emotional, spiritual, and religious needs.
- Lead worship services, prayer meetings, and other religious ceremonies as needed.
- Offer support during times of grief, loss, and transition.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care plans for residents.
- Maintain records of pastoral care interactions and document services provided.
- Serve as a liaison between the facility and local clergy, faith groups, and community organizations.
- Provide education and training on spiritual care and cultural/religious practices to staff.
- Assist with emergency and end-of-life planning, including comfort measures and sacramental care.
Qualifications:
- Ordained clergy or equivalent, with a recognized religious denomination, and completion of an accredited Chaplaincy program.
- Previous experience in pastoral care, particularly in a healthcare setting, preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with individuals from diverse spiritual and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to provide compassionate care during times of crisis and loss.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for residents' dignity.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and meet health screening requirements.
