The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting a wide range of HR activities, including new hire onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, maintenance of employee records, payroll, policy development and analysis, employee development, tracking of departmental metrics/KPIs, strategic planning and special projects. What you’ll do
- Provides advice and service to management on daily employee relations, payroll, compensation, benefits, performance management, talent acquisitions and legal compliance issues
- Addresses and resolves employee concerns regarding safety, benefits, vacation, and harassment issues
- Participates in on-site interviews and hiring program for Pittsburgh requisitions
- Maintains all digital and paper personnel records in compliance with state and federal retention schedules and compliance laws. Keeps employee records up-to-date in the ADP Workforce Now HRMS
- Administers new employee orientation and onboarding
- Project lead on SucessFactors
- Acts as a liaison between new hires and HR functions, including benefits and payroll
- Updates Pittsburgh employees about critical events and changes to plans
- Coordinates initiatives and activities sponsored by the HR department such as the employee performance and wellness program, recognition programs, etc.
- Serve as an ambassador for the Human Resources Department by promoting department programs related to employee health and well-being
- Responsible for claims management including STD/FMLA/WC and tracking
- Assists with applying consistent disciplinary action when required
- Analyzes policies and procedures and recommends improvements
- Plans and executes other HR related assignments, tasks and special projects as needed
- Collaborates with HR team members on various projects
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements
- Other duties assigned
What you need
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field required
- 3-5 years of related HR experience required
- Strong computer skills with expert knowledge of Microsoft Office; Experience with HRMS/HRIS and ATS programs
- Experience with ADP (Comprehensive Services) is preferred
- Experience with an ERP system is preferred
- Able to work with and maintain confidential information
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment, prioritize workload, self-manage projects, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of basic HR laws and application is required
- Demonstrated drive to achieve results as part of team
- Respectful, competent, and helpful colleague
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
