Summary: This job will be based in Los Angeles, CA. For all operating units in the HR geographic zone which includes the state of California, conduct on-site investigations, on-site separation/termination meetings, complete HR audits ensuring compliance, conduct training, and interface with employees, managers, and executives, and respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs, by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintains knowledge of all company policies and procedures and state and federal equal employment opportunity laws and regulations.
- Conducts prompt and thorough investigations in response to concerns including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, bullying, wage and hour issues, workplace violence or safety issues, privacy concerns, conflicts of interest, misconduct, and other violations of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Drafts investigative reports with objective, impartial findings and supporting documentation in a timely fashion, addressing all relevant issues.
- Provides recommendations based on investigation findings for appropriate remediation or other corrective action.
- Partners with Corporate Human Resources to review complex laws, regulations, and other employment legislation to ensure Company compliance.
- Conducts on-site separation/termination meetings.
- Completes audits for employment law posters, Workplace Violence Prevention Programs, and other HR related programs.
- Interfaces with employees, managers, executives, and government agencies.
- Produces responses to charges and claims filed with state labor departments.
- Facilitates the resolution of work-related conflicts between employees, managers and executives through advice and recommendation.
- Completes management training on various HR related topics such as: interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
- Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee and union relations issues.
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant HR or employment law experience, such as conducting and managing investigations or litigating employment law, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
- Experience in the complete investigative cycle including intake, investigation, and documentation, analyzing and summarizing findings, and providing high-quality investigative reports with clear and concise findings, substantiated with appropriate evidence, notes, and related documentation.
Excellent communication skills are required. Fluency in English and Spanish language required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and pending regulations.
- Able to read, take notes, and produce reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently to company locations in the HR geographic zone.
- Able to conduct investigations on any shift.
- Able to communicate and exchange accurate information with witnesses, employees and management at all levels on a daily basis.
- Must be an articulate and persuasive communicator with the ability to influence partners and business leaders.
- Strong work ethic and a reputation for being discreet, respectful, and empathetic when facing difficult and uncomfortable situations surrounding an investigation.
- Able to assess the credibility of witnesses.
- Critical thinking skills needed to analyze often complex scenarios and data without prejudice and make sound judgments and decisions.
- Able to manage confidential data and remain compliant with laws and regulations.
- Nimble and adaptable to changing priorities with the ability to prioritize assignments effectively.
- Solid understanding and knowledge of Microsoft Office products including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
