Summary
The Marketing Specialist position with SMT Corp. is a great early career position (min. 2 years exp) for an extremely motivated, resourceful, and positive marketing professional who is interested in developing their skills across multiple aspects of the marketing discipline. In this role, the candidate will be wholly accountable for the marketing function at SMT. SMT is 60 person company based in Sandy Hook, CT but is active in the U.S., Canada, and UK / Europe. This position reports to the Chief Growth Officer.
You will have a support system for learning and developing from the CGO and our affiliate marketing team based in the UK. That said, this position is highly autonomous and requires the ideal candidate to be able to be self-directed and prioritize activities on a daily basis. If you have a high acumen for marketing, are interested in a broad marketing role, are able to learn quickly, have a high level of attention to detail, and are driven to continuously improve and develop, this is a great opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Conference and trade show planning. (25% travel)
- Search Engine Optimization. Setting up PPC campaigns, primarily on Google Ads: Initiating and reporting on search campaigns. Actively review, optimize, and report on PPC activity. Keyword research and reporting.
- Social media marketing. e.g. LinkedIn campaigns and posts.
- Website marketing content management and organization. Update website.
- Content review, distribution / publication. Finding creative ways to market technical content. For example, publication in industry forums or press releases.
- Email campaign management from content creation, design and reporting on successes.
- Using Adobe Creative Suite (predominantly InDesign) to design marketing collateral: social media graphics, advertisements, sales support materials (e.g. brochures).
- Maintain and manage company templates, logos, and other graphics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or a related business field preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing or technical industry
- Excellent writing skills including the ability to write concise and engaging content
- Comfort level working with technical information
- Experience in online marketing platforms for the creation of email campaigns and scheduling of social posts
- Knowledge/experience with Google Ads fundamentals including shopping and search campaigns and the wide variety of extensions preferred
- Knowledge/experience of the fundamentals of Google Analytics(or similar platforms)
- Ability to prioritize duties and work to deadlines
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Adobe Creative Cloud
- Wordpress
- SEO tools such as Semrush, Ubersuggest
