Job Summary
The Scheduler works in the plant or with employees to make sure operations run on time. In the plant, schedulers prioritize inbound and outbound shipments to make sure that it gets to the end user in a timely matter.
Essential Accountabilities
Schedule production machines in most cost effective and efficient way possible
Coordinate all production activity with Sales and Sales Service to insure customers’ orders are being handled properly
Conduct twice-daily scheduling meetings with various personnel to explain shipping deadlines, existing and / or new orders, problems to look out for, etc.
Supervise staff in the daily routine of scheduling corrugator and preparing production reports
Support and enforce all management directives as they apply to human resources : i.e., rules, policies, etc.
Oversee roll stock ordering and inventory requirements
Learn relevant local and company requirements, rules and procedures. Strictly follows rules and guidelines and always uses the right procedure for the job. Promptly reports incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions or processes. SWR employees regardless of level, position or tenure are responsible for upholding the safety standards regulations and policies.
Additional duties assigned by management to insure the efficient operation of the Company
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience in a corrugated scheduling department / box plant
- Good attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to the effect he / she must deal with customers and personnel at all levels of the organization
- Good math aptitude
- Computer data entry experience
Physical Requirements
To successfully perform the essential functions of this role it requires the ability to : stand occasionally, walk frequently, frequent use of hands (reach with hands and arms), view computer monitor, use telephone, speak and listen frequently.
