Job Overview
Work as a member of the corporate Risk Management and Insurance team with responsibility for designing, implementing, and managing the company’s casualty insurance claims processes, including workers’ compensation, employer’s liability, automobile, general liability, products liability,y and employment practices liability. Guide claim developments and associated financial impact to internal stakeholders.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage company's workers' compensation/employer’s liability claims program and associated processes including but not limited to (1) timely establishment of claims with 3rd party claims administrators, (2) oversight of claims management process/activities with 3rd party claims administrators, outside legal counsel, nurse case management, surveillance, impacted internal field operation/HR, and safety and (3) review and approval of appropriate reserves based on the current fact pattern.
- Coordinate with the company’s Legal Department on domestic/foreign casualty insurance and employment practices liability claims programs and associated processes including but not limited to (1) timely establishment of claims with 3rd party claims administrators and (2) assisting Legal with claims management process/activities with 3rd party claims administrator, outside legal counsel, impacted internal field operation and safety.
- Manage, and provide direction/support to, direct reports with responsibility for casualty claims coordination, loss data coordination/reporting,g and self-insurance process coordination with various US states.
- Effectively and timely communicate claim developments and associated financial impact to internal stakeholders including but not limited to field operations, division/corporate accounting and finance, HR, Legal, Safety and Risk management,t and Insurance Department management, as appropriate .te
- Coordinate minor 3rd party bodily injury and property damage claims
- Manages relationships with 3rd party claims administrators or insurance carriers providing claims management services
- Conduct routine on-site and telephonic claim audits with 3rd party claims administrators to ensure claims are effectively managed and appropriately reserved
- Coordinate with department colleagues on self-insurance matters, including excess reimbursement processes with self-insurance carriers
- Coordinate claim/loss data managed by 3rd party loss data aggregator (RMIS provider)
- Review and confirm casualty insurance loss billings processed by the Risk Management and Insurance Department
- Review and confirm daily casualty insurance loss payments made to 3rd party claims administrators
- Assist with the preparation and review of claim/loss data for semi-annual actuarial evaluations and quarterly reserve monitoring processeinvolvingve third-party actuary

- Participate in casualty insurance renewal and post-policy year audit processes as requested, including the assembly of claims/loss data as requested by Risk Management and Insurance Department management, insurance broker, or carriers.
- Generate various ad-hoc claim/loss data reports at the request of internal stakeholders including, but not limited to field operations, division/corporate accounting and finance, HR, Legal, Safety, senior management and Risk Management,t, and Insurance Department management.
- Coordinate internal and external auditor requests related to claims/loss data and associated internal loss adjustment/allocation activities.s
- Coordinate with the company’s Safety Department on injury prevention activities and initiatives.
Skills/Qualifications
- Minimum four (4) year bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferably in the disciplines of Risk Management and Insurance, Management, Finance, or Accounting
- Risk management and insurance professional designations such as Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), or Associate in Claims (AIC) are a plus
- 10 years of claims management experience with an in-house corporate risk management department, a casualty insurance company, or 3rd party claims administrator preferably with experience working with publicly traded companies in the manufacturing sector a plus
- Ability to execute in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact and support all levels of the organization
- Strong administrative, organization,n, and time management skills
- Detailed oriented
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and assignments while meeting competing deadlines
- Proficient knowledge and experience with insurance claim terminology and coverages
- Proficient knowledge and experience with SOX compliance
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acces,s and Outlook
- Proficient knowledge and experience with RMIS systems (RSG/Dmitri and Origami)
- Proficient knowledge and experience with insurance company/3rd party administrators’ claims management systems (experience with Broadspire, Sedgwick, and Travelers systems a plus)
