SMW Financial Credit Union is seeking an individual to join the Accounting Department at our Lino Lakes branch. The successful candidate will receive hiring bonus of $1,000, $500 after the first 90 days, and $500 after 180 days. The Accounting Specialist is responsible for posting transactions, account reconciliations, maintaining card dispute resolutions and report generation among other specific functions. The successful candidate will join a team of three other individuals and report to the CFO. This position is starting at 30 hours / week, 9 AM to 3 : 30 PM Monday through Friday.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education in Accounting / Finance, post-secondary preferred
- Banking or credit union experience preferred
- 1 year of continuous employment at the same place
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to better support other departments of the Credit Union
- Ability to comprehend the importance of, and following procedures
- Proven understanding and interest in accounting and finance
- Ability to research, problem solve and clearly communicate conclusions to others
- Willingness and flexibility to work with others
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Strong understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite, and adaptable to different data systems
- Possess a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
