Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, including animal catheterization and laboratory work.
- Provide excellent pet care, including feeding, bathing, and exercising animals.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, ensuring an aseptic technique is followed.
- Handle dogs and other animals safely and effectively during examinations or treatments.
- Support animal husbandry practices to promote the health and well-being of all patients.
- Prepare and maintain medical records for each patient, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their animals' health and care instructions.
- Participate in inventory management, including ordering supplies as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of large animal care is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and veterinary clinic operations is beneficial.
- Strong skills in animal handling, particularly with dogs and cats, are essential.
- Ability to work well in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively.
