Position Summary
As a Quality & Food Safety Technician, you will perform process checks throughout our Central Production Unit including the production, packaging, sanitation, and warehousing functions of the company, including pre-operational checks, sanitation verification, label checks and net weight checks.
What you will do…
- Cover for HACCP Coordinator and/or Director Quality Assurance in case of absence
- Oversee and Implement Food Safety and Quality Programs
- Audit during production for food safety and quality
- Training and coach personnel on Food Safety and Quality
- Ensure all applicable Federal, State and Local Regulations are followed
- Assist during startups and product development
- Review Documents for HACCP and Production for completeness
- Conduct daily walks to ensure compliance
Who you are…
- Degree preferred or work experience in quality or food safety auditing
- Seafood HACCP Certified and/or ability to gain certification within 60 days after hiring
- Experience with USDA FSIS food production
- Food Manufacturing Quality and Food Safety
- Writing and implementing food safety and quality programs
- Excellent communication, presentation, and team building skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task to simultaneously complete several projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Additional Information
- Flexible to work on other duties outside of your main responsibilities when needed and as assigned
- Must be able to work in a chilled environment that is maintained below 40° when required
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, wipe, reach, bend and lift.
- Subject to lifting up to 50lbs
- Exposure to some potential food allergens such as shrimp, soy, nuts/nut products, and sesame.
