The Business Architect on the Business and Technology Enablement Team at SNC plays a pivotal role in guiding enterprise executives through transformation and optimization initiatives. This position supports the formulation of business strategies, outcomes, and capabilities, with a focus on growing revenue, optimizing costs, and mitigating risks. The Business Architect is responsible for designing and realizing business and operating models, identifying technology requirements, and supporting organizational change and investments. They help clarify strategic intentions, explore implications, and assist business leaders in leveraging existing, new, and emerging technologies to transform and optimize business models. A crucial aspect of this role is aligning business and IT, building strong relationships with both business and IT leaders to deliver these services effectively.
Key Responsibilities:

Supports Business Strategy Formulation:
- Assess disruptive forces impacting the organization and identify financial levers for transformation and optimization.
- Analyze competitive threats and opportunities from digital enterprises.
- Facilitate business strategy development, including economic and political analysis, opportunity identification, and business innovation portfolio development.
- Engage key stakeholders to identify innovation opportunities that drive business strategy, focusing on revenue growth, cost optimization, and risk mitigation.
- Utilize continuous foresight, innovation, and futurism best practices to test and refine business models and strategies.

Enables Organizational Change and Investments:
- Collaborate with enterprise stakeholders involved in strategy formulation and innovation.
- Develop deliverables that demonstrate the path toward strategic goals and targeted business outcomes.
- Use diagnostic deliverables to inform investment decisions and establish business and IT investment priorities.
- Employ a toolbox of business architecture deliverables to aid business leaders in making informed decisions.

Facilitates Business and Operating Model Design and Innovation:
- Work with business and IT executives to describe and understand business and operating models.
- Assist stakeholders in building effective communication and messaging for transformation objectives.
- Ensure the coherence and interdependencies of business and operating models.
- Use existing business models as a starting point for innovation, leveraging new technologies to enable business capabilities.
- Research emerging technology trends and disruptions to inform business strategies.

Aligns Business and IT:
- Assist business leaders with design thinking, business modeling, and innovation management.
- Facilitate the development of cross-business line solutions.
- Advise solution architects on solution options, risks, costs, and impacts.
- Collaborate with the enterprise program management office on initiative benefits, issues, and risks.
- Develop governance plans to ensure business architecture informs other enterprise architecture viewpoints.
- Participate in enterprise architecture governance and assurance processes to address business, information, and solution architecture issues.

Forges Customer Centricity:
- Advocate for cross-functional teams and flexible approaches like design thinking to drive innovation.
- Support enterprise architects in guiding the innovation process within the organization.
- Collaborate with project and product teams to stay informed on status and resolve customer issues.
- Develop ecosystem and business capability models, value stream, and customer journey maps.
- Construct business architecture deliverables to guide product managers and owners in making investment and change decisions.
Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelor's Degree in a related field with at least 10 or more years of relevant experience
- Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- Five or more years of experience in strategy formulation, business analysis, business architecture, or program management.
- Three or more years of experience in solution architecture covering both business and technology solutions.
- Experience leading or being part of high-performance fusion teams.
- Experience in developing and delivering solutions to complex business problems.
- Extensive experience with enterprise architecture, capability planning, and alignment of IT to corporate and BU strategy
- Experience with drafting reference architecture
- Experience designing, developing, and integrating applications
- Vendor management experience
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience in Agile development methodology and processes
- Experience in architecting enterprise systems such as PLM, MES, CRM, and ERP
- Conceptualizing and developing abstract representations
- DevOps methodology experience
