Duties
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Conduct account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, to maintain the integrity of financial data.
- Oversee the accrual accounting process, ensuring timely recognition of revenue and expenses.
- Interpret financial reports to provide insights into business performance and assist in strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with private equity partners to manage financial reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations by implementing appropriate internal controls.
- Mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on best practices and professional development.
- Manage financial management tasks using Quicken or similar software to streamline processes.
Experience
- Proven experience in accounting roles, with a strong understanding of LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) regulations being a plus.
- Demonstrated ability in financial report interpretation and account reconciliation.
- Familiarity with private equity accounting principles is preferred.
- Knowledge of accrual accounting practices and SOX compliance is essential.
- Experience in mentoring or training junior staff members is beneficial.
- Proficiency in bank reconciliation processes and overall financial management skills is required.
