Digital Accessibility Manager
Job Summary
This position relates to two new pieces of legislation, HB21-1110 and Dept. of Justice Regulation implementing Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Both require the institution's compliance by July 2025 and April 2026, respectively.
This position will be responsible for leading efforts to ensure compliance with HB21-1110 and the Department of Justice Regulation Implementing Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act. This 2-year full-time temporary position will play a key role in bringing the institution into compliance with digital and instructional accessibility requirements, ensuring that all content, platforms, and materials are accessible to individuals with disabilities, and creating a framework and processes to ensure ongoing adherence to accessibility requirements.
This position will collaborate with faculty, staff, IT, instructional designers, academic librarians, web designers, and external partners to promote accessibility in all areas of operations, particularly within Academic Affairs. The individual in this position will develop training programs, support policy creation, monitor compliance, and perform audits to ensure ongoing adherence to legal standards.
This role is critical in reducing risk, promoting inclusivity, and fostering an accessible learning environment.
Specific duties include, but may not be limited to :
- Ensure all content, platforms, and materials meet accessibility standards.
- Develop and deliver training for faculty and staff.
- Assist in the creation of institutional policies that support long-term accessibility.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to integrate accessibility into every aspect of digital learning and instruction.
- Establish systems for continuous compliance monitoring, including conducting audits and reporting.
- Digital accessibility oversight.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to create and implement compliance plan alignment with state and federal regulations.
- Promote accessibility best practices.
- Manage accessibility projects.
- Respond to accessibility issues.
- Establish and execute an annual compliance plan to ensure adherence to evolving accessibility standards.
- Lead the comprehensive remediation efforts to ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
- Partner with CPD and the FTLC to create comprehensive communication materials, help guides, and training modules, as well as conduct engaging and informative training sessions to facilitate the adoption of new processes and technologies, with a focus on implementing follow-up measures to ensure sustained success and continuous improvement.
- Review, recommend, and create new or revised internal operating processes and procedures.
- Participate on various committees, training events, special projects, and focus groups, including activities to maintain current knowledge of developments in the relevant subject area.
