We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Accountant to join our team at the Belfort office. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in accounting, bookkeeping, and tax return preparation for estates, businesses, partnerships, and nonprofits. The Tax Accountant will be responsible for preparing tax returns, maintaining tax records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing expert financial guidance to clients.
This is a 100% in-office position with opportunities for professional growth. Candidates with Enrolled Agent (EA) certification are highly preferred, though an incentive can be provided in the offer letter for candidates willing to obtain it.

Key Responsibilities :
Tax Preparation & Compliance :
Prepare and file tax returns for estates, businesses, partnerships, and nonprofit organizations (not personal tax returns).Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.Calculate taxes owed or refunds due using appropriate deductions and credits.Review financial records to determine necessary tax filings and forms.Conduct audits, including homeowner association audits , following Florida regulations and firm policies.Analyze tax laws, updates, and changes to maintain firm compliance.Client Engagement & Advisory :
Interview clients to assess taxable income, deductions, and liabilities.Explain tax laws, address client questions, and provide future tax planning strategies .Communicate complex financial information clearly and professionally.Resolve discrepancies and advise clients on required supporting documentation.Internal Processes & Technology :
Enter tax return data into QuickBooks Online and other tax software efficiently.Verify accuracy of prepared forms, ensuring compliance with firm policies.Track and update project statuses internally for efficient case management.Oversee and review tax return preparation by specialists to ensure quality control.Maintain and improve proficiency in relevant software and accounting tools.Qualifications & Skills :
Education & Experience :
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business administration (or equivalent work experience).2-4 years of accounting / bookkeeping experience in a financial institution or firm.Experience in estate, business, partnership, and nonprofit tax returns is required.Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is preferred (firm can provide incentive for obtaining it).Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and tax preparation software.Competencies :
