Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
• Schedule and confirm appointments while managing the calendar for the dental team.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Handle patient inquiries regarding services, insurance, and billing in a professional manner.
• Process payments and manage dental collections as necessary.
• Assist with dental coding and filing of patient records to ensure proper documentation.
• Collaborate with dental staff to ensure smooth patient flow and high-quality service delivery.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and office supplies.

Skills

• Proven experience as a dental front desk specialist or in a similar role within a healthcare setting is required.
• Familiarity with dental coding, billing processes, and dental collections is advantageous.
• Strong patient service skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in all interactions.
• Proficient in managing dental records and understanding dental office management practices, can be learned once accepted a position.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate filing and record keeping.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
