What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer position at Snorkel?
Duties :
- Creates new as well as monitors open purchase contracts (P.O.s), forecasts future inventory and interacts directly with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of inventory.
- Prepare and replace P.O.s and coordinate supply activities with other departments.
- Ensure requirements are valid and establish procedures followed regarding specifications, expenditures, and inventory.
- Work with suppliers and other departments to diagnose and solve problems involving supplied products and services.
- Source or re-source parts to provide more cost-effective supply and ensure the best solution to support stock and customers.
- Submit all purchase orders to suppliers.
- Facilitate open order reports to the supplier and ensure all dates are updated in the system.
- Expedite any emergency requirements due to overselling or slow supply to support customers.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Education / Experience :
Two-year degree in business administration preferred; minimum of two years’ experience in purchasing or material management in manufacturing or demonstrated aptitude.
Other Qualifications :
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good critical thinking and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work individually or with a team.
- Ability to adapt under changing circumstances.
- Good understanding of the manufacturing process.
