Upward Bound is a federally funded educational program designed to assist low-income, first-generation high school students in completing secondary education and enrolling in and graduating from institutions of postsecondary education. The Summer Session is a six-week residential program at Snow College aimed at developing skills and motivation necessary for success beyond high school. Students will receive: College credit instruction, tutoring, and study skills workshops.Exposure to academic and creative areas.Recreational, social, and academic support.PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: Summer Component: May 19th - July 02, 2025
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Must have completed at least one year of college and be a current college student (based on residency, not credits) at the time of employment.Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.Tutoring experience with adolescents preferred.Competence in overseeing and tutoring study groups.Computer literacy required.Strong social and communication skills.Experience in an Upward Bound Program is a plus.Experience working with low-income, first-generation students is a plus.Experience with recreational activities for adolescents preferred.EMT/First Aid certification preferred.Must be available for required training starting May 19th.
