What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Specialist position at Snowbasin Resort?
Scope of Work:
The Event Specialist leads oversight, execution and experience of Snowbasin’s public facing events during the 2024 summer season. This includes Blues & Brews, SnowWiesn Oktoberfest, Halloween and other events available to the general public. This seasonal position is scheduled to commence in November with the conclusion of the summer operating season.
Primary Duties:
- Primary event contact, providing internal communication to employees and ensuring logistics are organized prior to each date.
- Oversee community activations, including the Mountain Market at SnowWiesn Oktoberfest. Recruiting vendors, managing pre-arrival communication, set-up and take-down.
- Collaborate with Snowbasin sponsors for effective event activation.
- Oversee event experience, planning activities and games to keep guests engaged.
- Partner with Snowbasin departments on optimization of each event operating area, including Food & Beverage, Guest Services, Lift Operations, Ticket Sales and more.
- Utilize feedback from experience surveys to make adjustments and improve the event experience.
- Ideate and research new event opportunities that can create growth for the resort.
Secondary Duties
- As time allows, assist with non-public events, including Spartan Race, 29029 and others.
Requirements:
- Experience working events.
- Highly organized individual that can effectively plan details of each event.
- Effective communicator to ensure Snowbasin staff is informed of each event’s details.
- Evenings, weekend and/or holiday work for event execution.
