Employment Type: Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM (with an hour lunch break)

Job Summary:
The CNC Operator at Snowy Mountain Rifles is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to manufacture firearm components with extreme precision. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to interpret blueprints, and a strong commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards. The CNC Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring that all machined parts meet exact specifications and tolerances.
Key Responsibilities:
- CNC Machine Operation:
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce precision firearm components.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished parts while ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Adjust machine settings and tooling to accommodate different part designs and tolerances.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect machined parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure they meet required specifications.
- Identify and correct any machining errors or inconsistencies.
- Maintain detailed records of measurements, adjustments, and production runs.
- Machine Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and coordinate with maintenance personnel for repairs.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure safe handling of materials.
- Comply with industry regulations and company quality standards.
- Organizational Efficiency:
- Maintain an organized and efficient workspace to streamline production.
- Assist in refining workflows and optimizing machine operation processes.
- Collaborate with team members to improve production efficiency and quality.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in CNC machining is a plus.
- Proven experience operating CNC machines, preferably in the firearm or precision manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to work with tight tolerances.
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and comply with company drug-free workplace policies.
Working Conditions:
- The position requires working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery noise and metalworking processes.
- Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with an hour lunch break.
