Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Real Estate Appraisal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to learn and implement the valuation of residential properties through comprehensive analysis and evaluation. This role requires a good understanding of real estate markets, financial analysis, appraisal methodologies to provide accurate property valuations and willing to travel.
You will be trained by a Supervising Appraiser, logging hours to obtain your Real Estate Appraisal License/Certification.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough property inspections to evaluate physical condition and identify unique features impacting value.
- Perform real estate appraisals for residential, multi-family, acreage and luxury properties.
- Collect and analyze data related to property sales, market trends, and economic factors influencing property values.
- Prepare detailed appraisal reports that include findings, methodologies used, and conclusions drawn from the analysis.
- Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for mapping and analyzing property locations.
- Communicate with real estate agents, county/city staff and homeowners to collect information.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices in real estate appraisal.

- Excellent report writing skills for creating clear and concise appraisal documents.
- Ability to clearly communicate and ask questions in person, email or phone.

- Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Requirements
- Have a computer with two monitors, one will be in portrait mode.
- Ideal candidate will have prior appraisal experience or have a state issued Appraisal Assistant certificate.
- Hired assistant will be responsible for all financial costs associated with appraisal education and licensing to meet state requirements.
- We cover 26 counties between Oregon and Washington, and must be willing to travel long distances in a day. No overnight trips, but day trips can last up to 12 hours. Traveling typically only happens one to two days a week, the rest of the week will be working in the office.
- Office is located in Canby and must be able to work in office, full days, Monday to Friday.
