Responsibilities
- Greet and seat guests in a friendly and welcoming manner.
- Present menus and provide detailed information about food and beverage offerings.
- Take accurate orders using the TOAST POS system or OpenTable, ensuring all special requests are noted.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining a clean and organized service area.
- Upsell menu items to enhance the dining experience and increase sales.
- Process payments using the cash register, ensuring accuracy in transactions.
- Assist with bussing tables and maintaining cleanliness throughout the restaurant.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and address any guest concerns.
- Adhere to food handling safety standards to ensure guest health and satisfaction.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on hospitality and customer service.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for order processing and payment handling.
- Experience with POS systems such as Aloha or OpenTable is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in the food industry is advantageous, including knowledge of upselling techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Attention to detail with strong organizational skills, particularly in bussing and maintaining cleanliness.
