Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles.
Experience with Union payroll required.
This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and proficiency in accounting software. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial part in supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update financial records in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Perform account analysis and reconciliation to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Manage general ledger accounting, including posting debits and credits.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for management review.
- Conduct technical accounting tasks as needed, including governmental accounting when applicable.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information.
- Provide support during audits by preparing required documentation and reports.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (experience with specific software is a plus).
- Knowledge of payroll processing and related regulations.
- Familiarity with GAAP standards and financial concepts.
- Ability to perform account analysis and maintain general ledger accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
