What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitation Crew position at Soboba Casino?
The Sanitation Crew will ensure that all Back of House (BOH) kitchen areas and equipment are deep cleaned and sanitized every evening. The Sanitation Crew will operate dishwashing machines, place clean dishes in assigned storage location, dispose of kitchen substances (such as grease) and kitchen chemicals properly, transport garbage containers to dump sites while adhering to recycling regulations, empty and clean trash containers, and wash walls, ceilings, baseboards, floor drains, hand sinks, tables and cutting boards.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Transport garbage from all kitchen areas to trash receptacle and dumpster.
- Follow all cleaning schedules in designated areas (kitchen storerooms, walk-ins, and other designated assigned areas).
- Machine-wash and sort all dishes and flatware as it is brought to the dish area as needed.
- Wash, sort, and store pots and pans in their designated location on proper racks as needed.
- Breakdown and clean dishwashing machine and work areas as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of supply / storage closets; remove trash, wipe down shelves / counters; clean floors; remove items which do not belong and place in correct areas.
- Set up and organize work station with designated supplies and equipment; report shortages to supervisor. Replenish as needed throughout shift.
- Report any damages, maintenance problems or safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Assist in training new employees.
- Work steadily an accurately, paying attention to detail in accordance with Health Department codes and departmental policies to remain consistently in compliance.
- Nightly deep cleaning of grills, exhaust vents, stove tops, fryers and kitchen equipment.
- Must be physically present to work a regular, reliable, and predictable work schedule in accordance with business demands, and maintain a consistent and regular attendance record.
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities, tasks, or duties as requested.
- Operate heavy machinery such as fork lift, pressure washer, fog tank, oil transporter etc.
Education / Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age, or older.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Any combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- No previous restaurant experience required.
- Stewarding/ kitchen cleaning experience within a hotel or high-volume food and beverage facility, preferred.
- Be able to lift, reach, bend and stoop.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
- Must be available to work graveyard shift.
- Must be able to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States of America.
Certificates, licenses and registration
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license.
- Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing.
- Required to have a valid Riverside County Food Handler Card and / or ServSafe Certification, or obtain same upon hiring.
