Do you have a passion for championing diversity, equity, and inclusion at a membership organization? Our association is in search of an exceptional Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) professional to realize a more inclusive and diverse nonprofit organization. This includes outreach to Latin America and expanding our membership globally.
The Society for American Archaeology (SAA) is an international organization that, since its founding in , has been dedicated to the research about and interpretation and protection of the archaeological heritage of the Americas. With more than 7, members, SAA represents professional archaeologists in colleges and universities, museums, government agencies, and the private sector. SAA has members in all 50 states as well as many other nations around the world.
In the newly created role of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) specialist, you will take the lead in collecting data, communicating and reporting on the data, formulating and executing strategies, programs, and initiatives to create a more inclusive and diverse membership. You will apply your expertise managing vital aspects of membership including recruitment, retention, engagement and communicating value. Your pivotal role will be the driving force behind the advancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the programs and services of the Society, helping SAA attract and retain younger members and members outside of the U.S.
This position is a valued contributor to the membership team and reports to the Deputy Executive Director.
