The Senior Coordinator, Public Health Initiatives, provides support in the development of SMFM public health project materials and tools. The Senior Coordinator will work with the Director on projects related to infectious diseases and emerging threats, hypertension in pregnancy, and workforce capacity building and partnerships. They will assist the Director in all reporting that is required for the project funding. 

 

Responsibilities:

Ongoing programming:

  • Provide project support for the existing SMFM Committees on Infectious Diseases and Emerging Threats.
  • Track and monitor the committee’s projects in development.
  • Track and finalize reports on the project for the funder.

 

New programming:

  • Coordinate and support the development of the new SMFM initiatives to address hypertension in pregnancy and workforce capacity building.
  • Coordinate and support the work of advisory groups.
  • Track and monitor the overall project deliverables.
  • Track and finalize reports on this project for the funder.

 

Other:

  • Work with other SMFM committee staff and provide support in the development of other tools that relate to the clinical guidance developed by the Infectious Diseases and Emerging Threats Committee.
  • Work with other SMFM staff to provide materials and assistance in promotion of all messages regarding public health initiatives.
  • Provide expertise when applying for ongoing and additional funding.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High level of attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Sharepoint and Teams.
  • Experience conducting literature searches using PubMed or other databases.
  • Experience with EndNote is a plus.
  • Strong project and time management skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diversified office and volunteer leadership.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with a strong attention to detail.
  • High levels of intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and emotional intelligence.
  •   Experience working for membership association, healthcare entity, or grant-funded organization a plus.
  •   Ability to multitask, remain cool under pressure, and manage diverse priorities with positive outcomes.

 

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
