OVERVIEW
The Revenue Accountant is a position responsible for all SVdP revenue reporting including Thrift Store financial reporting. The Revenue Accountant will analyze financial data, prepare financial reports and utilize appropriate accounting control procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Revenue Accounting, Analyses and Reporting:
- Prepares daily cash receipts reports
- Performs cash flow analysis
- Forecasts cash receipts based on historical and same store sales
- Plans, collects, and analyzes data to determine cost of business activity such as material, purchases, inventory, and labor
- Performs inventory reconciliation, ledger entries and cost analyses
- In conjunction with other staff establishes and organizes processes for achieving budget, cost control and reduction
General Accounting:
- Performs month-end closing to include vouchers, payout receipts, expenses, sales/deposits, inventory, administrative overhead, and P&L
- Reviews budget vs. actuals
- Analyzes revenue and expenditure trends; recommends appropriate budgets and ensures expenditure controls
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Business Accounting and Finance
- Experience in Non-Profit sector desired
- Minimum 5 years accounting experience
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and commitment to SVdP mission
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of:
- GAAP (Intermediate level)
- POS systems and retail operations preferred
- MS Office: Excel (Advanced Level), Outlook (Intermediate Level), Word (Intermediate Level), SharePoint (Entry Level), and familiarity with TEAMS, OneNote, and PowerPoint.
- QuickBooks Premier (Intermediate level)
- Skills and Abilities:
- Research, compile, analyze and interpret data
- Develop alternative solutions and initiate proper accounting controls
- Analyze and reconcile complex accounts and reserves
- Work independently or with a team with minimum supervision
- Prepare and reconcile daily sales and inventory financial postings
- Communicating, orally and in writing, to a variety of audiences
- Organization and collaboration
- Physical:
