What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal: Chocolate Production Assistant position at Socola Chocolatier?
We are looking for Seasonal help through 12/21 - someone who enjoys working in food (specifically chocolates, baking or confections), who is detail oriented, enjoys working with repetitive and predictable tasks, and works quickly.
This role would be Monday (2 to 10 PM), Tuesday (2 to 8 PM), Wednesday (12 to 8 PM), Friday and Saturday (9 AM to 3 PM) through 12/21. Position starts ASAP.
Summary of key responsibilities:
- Package chocolates into candy cups and chocolate boxes according to production plan
- Assisting in chocolate production - may include garnishing chocolates
- Cleaning & polishing chocolate molds
- Package shipments and orders
- Maintain area in a neat and sanitary manner with periodic cleaning, sanitizing and dishwashing
Physical Requirements:
- Constant standing/walking
- Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying up to 40 lbs
- Unloading and unpacking deliveries including boxes and deliveries
- Take out trash, compost and recycle bins and load into larger trash receptacles
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps
- Frequent, continual, intermittent flexing or rotation of the wrist(s) and spine
- Constant reaching, turning, and performing precision work around area
- Constant receiving detailed information through oral communication
- Constant talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
- Occasional distinguishing, with a degree of accuracy, differences or similarities in intensity or quality of flavors and/or odors
Qualifications
- Food Handler Card
- Experience in food production or manufacturing
- Knowledge of sanitation practices, HACCP, and CGMP standards
- Ability to handle food safely and follow proper food handling procedures
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting
- Strong attention to detail
