Sodalis Senior Living is seeking a Cook for our Community! Sodalis Senior Living is looking for excellent staff who are passionate about caring for our elders with dignity and integrity! POSITION DESCRIPTION: FULL TIME Monday - Friday 11am-7pm · Provide exceptional personal care · Make meals that are appetizing, cleanly presented and based on a predetermined nutritional menu · Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen · Engage residents in a multitude of activities and social interaction · Exhibit our core values of SERVICE, INTEGRITY, DIGNITY, EXCELLENCE, & TEAMWORK at all times · Participate in meaningful work that improves the lives of the resident, your co-workers, and you! POSITION REQUIREMENTS: · MUST have a big heart and be willing to work in an Assisted Living setting with individuals w/ Alzheimer’s & dementia · Ability to Lift 50lbs. · Transportation (Must have a car) · Open Availability/ Flexibility REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: · Basic Cooking Skills, including able to identify common cooking terms (frying, roasting, baking, cream, thicken, mix, finely chop, etc.), know common measurements (tsp. versus tablespoon), demonstrate safe cooking temperatures, and menu and recipe reading comprehension. · Current food safety manager's card · People person - must be comfortable interacting with residents, family members and other Sodalis staff members · Leadership - (the kitchen is the social hub of the community) · Proactive thinking (exploring other options based on resident's needs) · Able to order for menus, follow budget and make appropriate substitutions when necessary · Problem Solving · Personal Development All offers of employment with Sodalis Senior Living are contingent upon a satisfactory background and drug screening.
