Company Description
The Sodus Bay Historical Society and Lighthouse Museum is located on the largest bay on the South Shore of Lake Ontario. It is part of the newly-designated Lake Ontario National Marine Sanctuary. We host 20,000 visitors each year to view the 200 year-old lighthouse and learn the rich history of Sodus Bay and the communities and people who have lived and worked here.
Role Description
This is a full-time Executive Director role with responsibility for leading the growth and development of the museum, managing a capital campaign, and expanding its facilities, exhibits, and services. It is a unique opportunity for an energetic, focused, productive, and engaging individual who wants to run the show and be supported by area leaders. Compensation for the position is up to $75,000 plus benefits.

- Fundraising and Grant Writing experience
- Knowledge of Museum Operations and Historical Preservation
- Ability to work collaboratively with board members, staff, volunteers, and the community
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Museum Studies, History, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or related field
