SOFT's client, located in Syracuse, NY is looking for a Field Worker with telecom experience for a long term contract assignment.
Job Purpose
o The role will be responsible for providing support for the Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI) Field Area Network (FAN) deployment in Upstate New York. The role will focus on the telecommunication field devices installed on overhead electric poles throughout the territory and providing support to the deployment team in the areas of audit, inventory management and tracking of devices that require maintenance. To successfully perform in this role, the candidate must proactively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple business units to influence safety and compliance outcomes, share best practices and collaborate to improve ways of working.
Key Accountabilities
o Excess material tracking and review at operating yard/barn level, according to the return of excess material across region
o Providing overhead line operations teams miscellaneous materials through material work requests in various statuses, in all operating areas.
o Troubleshooting any material issues to support electric operations installations and troubleshooting maintenance
o Coordinating deliveries from material supplier and managing risk to ensure deliveries arrive according to plan
o Perform field audits on AMI equipment across operating territory
o Provide data for FAN team to present field finding to stakeholders and update database with data acquired from the field.
o Management of data to support troubleshooting and inventory control efforts.
Qualifications.
o 3 years’ operations experience within the electric utility or equivalent
o In-depth knowledge of electric operations, preferred with power and telecommunication device experience.
o Familiarity with technical details associated with third party pole attachments.
o Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
