JOB TITLE: Senior Staff Accountant
Job Summary
The Senior Staff Accountant reports to the Sr. Manager – NA Controller and is responsible for assisting in the monthly general ledger close, balance sheet and income statement variance analysis, ad hoc accounting analysis and maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger, including sub ledger to ledger reconciliations and account reconciliations. The essential duties for this role will initially be focused on the company’s research and development (R&D) activities, inventory accounting and valuation, and allocated shared costs within North America.

Essential Duties
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

An equivalent competency level acquired through a variation of these qualifications may be considered.

Typical Office Environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.

Essential Duties
- Processes Journal entries for month-end close, including subledger to ledger reconciliations.
- Prepares financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule.
- Assists in documentation and monitoring of JSOX internal controls.
- Completes account reconciliations.
- Assists in preparing supporting schedules for external auditors and responding to audit inquiries.
- Contributes and/or leads special projects as they arise.
- Provide guidance to other accounting areas.
- Provides input into annual planning.
- Strong knowledge and experience of general ledger accounting
- Self-directed individual with strong motivation and willing to take initiative.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of associates & management.
- Interpersonal skills, team orientation, and willingness to learn.
- Planning and organizing skills with orientation to attention to detail.
- Ability to develop, manipulate and maintain spreadsheets in MS Excel.
