SWIFT Messaging Analyst

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a SWIFT Messaging Analyst for an 11-month contract assignment with one of our premier financial services clients in New York City, NY.

The reason for the role: ISO 20022 - global payment messaging standard being adopted by SWIFT and over 10,000 Financial Institutions (FIs) and multiple payment networks across the world. The standard is being rolled out in phases by SWIFT and to be compliant, for application/channels that are unable to adopt one of the Strategic solutions, they will be supported with a tactical solution. The tactical solution will support conversion of legacy message types (HMI, SPG-XML, MT) to new SWIFT ISO 20022 message format and vice-versa.

Responsibilities :

• Detailed understanding and knowledge of ISO 20022 message standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test the new SWIFT messages.
• Analyze existing SWIFT messages and compare to new SWIFT messages to validate accuracy, identify gaps.
• Work in partnership with Custodian Banks to test the new SWIFT messages.
• Processing changes to be made to the payments process.
• Testing processes changes and verifying the procedures are functioning correctly.
• Corresponding with paying banks to schedule updates for change implementation.

Required Skills:

• 5 years of Operational Experience.
• 3 years experience with SWIFT messaging.
• Experience processing payments.
• Prior Financial Institution experience.
