1- ONSITE WORK REQUIRING DAILY TRAVEL - Candidates are based out of Concord, NH office, but will be required to travel to various state offices to perform work as necessary in this role. No overnight travel will be required and all work/travel is generally completed within normal business hours.
2 - Because of travel requirements, candidates must have own vehicle, valid driver's license & insurance to qualify for this position (proof of license and insurance will be required). Mileage for required travel to offsite locations will be reimbursed per State policy.

The Telecom Engineer (TE) will work with the team to review MDF/IDF's, determine needs based on requirements, install hardware, wiring, and specialized equipment where needed. The TE may also be responsible for the end-to-end installation of cable, wiring, and related equipment, working with appropriate vendors. He or she typically works closely with facilities/construction managers and site-based project managers. This role is a hybrid role where some work will take place at 27 Hazen and other work a various site location around the state as needed. All work will take place during normal working hours M-F.
Responsibilities
Inspects customer premises to ascertain available space for equipment installation.
Could include various technologies and roles including Circuits, VOIP, CAT 5/6 cabling, Fiber Optic cabling, Coax cabling, PBX, and Central Office (CO)
Must be able to lift 65lbs.
Skills Needed
Perform troubleshooting steps related to phones and associated cabling. Required 4 Years
Review and Assess MDF/IDF closets Required 3 Years
Terminate cabling to RJ45 jacks and patch panels Required 2 Years
Identify deficiencies and offe r improvement recommendations Required 3 Years

- Monitors progress of installation to ensure facilities are ready on specified date.
- Knowledge, experience and understanding of network fiber/copper cabling installation.
- Technically proficient/knowledgeable and ability to install network cable and terminations.
- Technical ability and proficiency to review/assess and/or install/punch down & test analog telephony.
- Site readiness assessment of locations, MDF/IDF status for network equipment installations.
- Identify and recommend Demarc/MDF & IDF racking/tray needs & placements.
- Troubleshoot endpoint network connectivity issues to IDF.
- Assist with MDF/IDF installation of racks/cabinets/UPS/patch cabling.
