SoHo Dragon represents an investment bank with offices in New York, NY that is looking to hire a Governance and Controls Analyst for a contract opportunity.
This is a hybrid position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the U.S. Sanctions team with producing norms, policies and procedures relating to global and US Sanctions – and the creation and delivery of global and local targeted training against those P&Ps.
The role contains two distinct work streams: Policy & Procedures: Creation, validation and Communication of Sanctions-related group and US policies and desktop procedures; and Governance: Oversight of Financial Security governance (including Sanctions Committee), special projects and transversal topics.
The position reports to the Head of Governance, and includes, but is not limited to, the following functions:
- Sanctions Notices and Guidance memos for clarification of regulatory developments and other Sanctions topics
- Partner with Compliance counterparts in their responsibilities involving Sanctions-related Laws, Rules, Regulations and Group policies
- Interacts regularly with management and department leaders
- Interacts with the group to express and present US Sanctions regulations

COMPETENCIES
Required:
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
- Working knowledge of banking products & services
- Familiarity with project management
- Ability to work collaboratively within a complex organization, across multiple cultures, geographies, and disciplines.
- Ability to balance multiple, changing priorities in a dynamic and fast moving working environment
- Experience of AML, sanctions, risk, or compliance experience with a financial institution, law firm, regulatory agency, major consulting firm or law enforcement
- 3 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Office suite: Outlook, Access, SharePoint (integrating with Access or Database), PowerPoint, Excel (Advanced)
- Ability to work independently and embody firm values
