We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Receiving Inspector to join our team, to perform incoming inspection processes and verifying incoming materials, components, and products to ensure they meet company standards and specifications. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining product quality and compliance with regulatory and customer requirements for our mechanical and electronic assembly operation. The ideal candidate will have responsibility for adherence to incoming inspection procedures in on our QMS, ensuring adherence to quality standards, documenting deviations, and seeking root cause solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Incoming Inspection: Inspect and verify incoming materials, parts, and products against specifications, drawings, and purchase orders.
- Documentation Review: Check certificates of conformance, material test reports, and other supplier-provided documents.
- Measurement & Testing: Use measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM, etc.) to ensure components meet required tolerances and specifications.
- Non-Conformance Handling: Identify, document, and report non-conforming materials; coordinate with suppliers and internal teams for resolution.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed inspection records, test results, and reports for traceability and compliance.
- Supplier Communication: Work with procurement and suppliers to address material quality issues and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Process Improvement: Provide feedback to engineering and quality teams on recurring quality issues and suggest improvements.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all inspections comply with industry standards (ISO, AS9100, FDA, etc.) and company QMS policies.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification in Quality Inspection preferred.
- Experience: 2 years in quality inspection or receiving inspection within a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Experience with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, etc.).
- Software Proficiency: Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- NetSuite Experience is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, engineers, and internal teams.
- Certifications: ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) is a plus.
