POSITION: Graphic Designer
Sol Levinson & Bros., one of the largest and most successful funeral homes in the Baltimore metropolitan area, is seeking a Graphic Designer. As an industry leader and influential member of the community for over 130 years, Sol Levinson is committed to providing the families we support with the best and most professional service possible. This is a full-time position with occasional holiday coverage.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under direct supervision of management, this role requires a professional who can combine artistic skills with empathy to design meaningful and respectful materials for our families during their most difficult times. This role requires a blend of technical skills, creativity, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with families to create custom memorial materials, including programs, prayer cards and digital slideshows
- Produce tribute videos that celebrate the life of the deceased, incorporating photos, videos and music
- Design and update promotional materials, brochures, and branding for the funeral home
- Maintain and enhance the funeral home’s online presence through social media graphics and website updates
- Create tasteful and professional designs aligned with the mission of our organization
- Ensure timely delivery of projects while accommodating family requests and revisions
- Work closely with Funeral Directors, administration, and families to provide design recommendations and ensure all materials meet the family’s needs and expectations
- Assist with various administrative tasks including data entry, answering phones and operating office equipment
- Other duties that contribute to the mission, vision and goals of the organization as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma required, degree or certification in graphic design preferred
- Proficient in design software such as Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Great communication skills are important for interacting with families and colleagues
- Strong attention to detail including the ability to proofread and edit work meticulously to ensure high-quality output
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with dignity and respect, maintaining a high standard of professionalism
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask and manage time effectively
- Ability to sit for long periods of time

- Monday-Friday 8am-4pm
