What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential PVII Technician position at Solar Gain Inc?
The PV II technician will be responsible for working as a member of the solar installation crew, assisting with the mechanical portions of residential solar installation. This position will help organize and perform the safety equipment placement, array layout, racking installation, and module placement.
The work schedule is typically Monday through Friday, 8–hour shifts, and the work site location varies around the Greater Tucson area.
Work is performed outdoors, often on rooftops near edges without parapets, canopy and trenching which exposes workers to dangers, particularly falls caused by tripping hazards. This position requires physical agility. Each team member must be capable of climbing ladders or stairs to work on rooftops for extended periods. Full mobility in both the upper and lower body is needed, along with appropriate visual, verbal, and hearing acuity to follow and give instructions, operate machinery and equipment, and ensure the accuracy of the assigned work to prevent accidents. Working with heavy equipment and tools frequently involves exerting up to 50 pounds of force and lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
To be considered, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- A high school diploma or GED
- A professional appearance, active Arizona driver’s license, and a record clear of DUI's
- Two or more years of rooftop solar installation experience
- Proficiency in installing fixtures and mounting solar panels, as well as the ability to build and plumb solar panel arrays
- Understanding of low/high voltage systems and compliance with NEC regulations.
