About the Role:
The Large Structures Value Stream Manager is vital in leading a skilled fabrication team to execute our business plan with a strong emphasis on safety and excellence.
This position is responsible for implementing Lean manufacturing strategies that cultivate a secure work environment while driving profitable growth and enhancing product quality.
The manager will oversee daily operations to ensure consistent progress toward our goals, focusing on outstanding customer service, workforce development, and continuous process improvements.
By effectively reducing costs, inventory, and lead times, this role significantly contributes to our commitment to deliver on promises and maintain high performance throughout the year.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Safety: Promote a safe environment through education, awareness, and ownership. Achieve corporate safety objectives for the facility.
- Conduct accident investigations and implement appropriate actions.
- Employee development: Oversee a staff comprised of various job classifications.
- Identify and develop training requirements for each position within the reporting structure.
- Conduct performance appraisals and plan for merit-based promotions.
- Facilitate the creation of Individual Development Plans for direct reports.
- Establish roles, values, and goals for team members.
- Process improvements: Sponsor and lead various continuous improvement projects using Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
- Create and maintain a multi-generational project plan (MGPP) to reach the future state maps.
- Develop current and future state value stream maps for the value stream.
- Drive continuous improvement to reduce variation, improve quality, decrease cycle time, and increase capacity.
- Schedule Execution: Ensure 98% or higher on-time delivery to meet customer needs.
- Develop a strategy to achieve production capacity for annual and long-term sales forecasts.
- Oversee daily operations within the value stream to ensure business commitments are met.
- Cost Management / Reduction: Responsible for managing and achieving annual targets, including operational budgets, employee expenses, and capital deployment projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering, Business, or related field.
- At least 5 additional years of leadership experience in Manufacturing, Fabrication, or Assembly.
- Proven track record of effective leadership, team building, and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with materials management disciplines, including production and inventory control.
- Ability to manage changing/conflicting priorities and resolve them appropriately.

Summary:
$123,360.00 - $185,040.00
