POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Set up and operate machines and tools to perform any operation within machine capacity with special fixtures or holding devices if required.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
Perform complete and independent setup of various machine tools and perform any operation within the machine's capacity, working from prints, programs, sketches, oral and written instructions to determine the sequence of operations to be performed, dimensions and tolerances to be held, tools to use, method of locating, aligning, and holding work, and feeds and speeds. Make machine adjustments for efficient machining operations. Use precision measuring instruments, machines and gauges to check own work for conformance to specifications. As required, pre-set and/or sharpen cutting tools. Order or request shop supplies, machine replacement parts, etc. Must be able to set up and operate all machining equipment in the machine shop and/or detail shop and/or spool shop, which may include drill presses, burn table or other similar equipment or machining tools.

2.Must keep all areas clean and orderly; and comply with TurboFab’s housekeeping procedures.
3.Must maintain a safe working environment.
4.Must meet production requirements.
5.Machine components to required tolerance and meet quality standards.
6.Must apply continuous improvement techniques.
7.Insure equipment is functioning properly.
8.Keep and maintain records and documents as required.
9.Assist in the training of less experienced machinists as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• This position is for the fully competent and qualified Machinists and/or Machine operators that have two - five years or more of experience as a machinist and/or machine operator and requires minimal supervision to perform the job.
• Knowledge of setting up and running the production machining equipment.
• Must exhibit the skills and willingness to perform assigned tasks in a fully competent manner.
• Capable of reading and interpreting drawings.
• Understanding and skilled in the use of precision measuring equipment and gauges to inspect machined parts.
• Must have the basic skills, knowledge in operating manual and CNC machining equipment, including the ability to change and update programs.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Good communication skills both verbal and written.
